When I did my pin re-do, not only did I find the original pins of questionable quality (as expected) , but more of a surprise was a disturbing number of the wires themselves being badly corroded. This was mainly wires to connectors in the engine compartment. If striping the insulation off the wire was hard to do, it always indicated the wire underneath would be black with corrosion.

Tim did you ever figure out the O2 sensor pins?

I am chasing some persistent CEL things on one side and I am thinking to start by doing these.

These are the tin JPT terminals.

These are the gold. ( I would stick with the Tin)

Getting ready to start this process... curious how far back anyone who's done this needed to strip back the wires to get away from corrosion?

The pins in the door harness are terrible... most were at least a 1/4" back before I got to good wire.

I only had to strip the wires maybe quarter of an inch max. The connector inside the cabin doesn't see the weather like the connector inside the door hinge. You will see pretty quick if the wires are corroded or not. I stripped the bare minimum needed.

FYI, I am almost done with the repin on my harnesses and nearly every single ECU connector had a gap between the prongs with some allowing a credit card to slide between them! Every 348 owner needs to seriously consider doing this job. My sensors already had the correct JPT pins so I did not replace them.
