My hose is leaking around the clamp area. Can I just cut off the old clamp section? or do I need a new hose? Is there engine oil inside the hose if I unclamp it? Thanks a lot for your help.

That hose is for the oil vapor recovery/venting. There will be a little bit of oil in it, but it will not be full. Meaning it will not come pouring out.

Can I just trim the old part and still use the hose with new clamp?

More than likely it's the hose that's causing the issue not the clamp.

And chances are that if there's a split in it, it's too far back to be able to re-use the hose (that's how these things tend to work out in My experience unfortunately! :( )

If that's the hose I think it is, the damn thing costs almost $450.00 Mine wasn't leaking but had quite a lot of fine cracks. I bought some very large heat shrink tubing and basically covered it in that. Has been working fine for several years.

At that price I think a trip to NAPA for some appropriate ID rubber hose, the needed "t" fitting, and a few clamps (maybe a few elbows for the turns to make it look really stock as well) would get this done for about 5% of the Ferrari price.

As mentioned its just a "vapour" pipe so no oil is going to come gushing out - just a bit slimey on insides. Should be cheap to reproduce if you dont mind not having stock look as it has a unusual "Y" joint on it. They crack/split at the ends where the clamps go on.

    Overall pic of the pipe

Oh man, there go your concours points! :p

I love it when we find super cheap alternatives to the Ferrari tax. So awesome. Head down to the local auto parts store and rummage around their stock. You'd be surprised what you can find. We have never had to buy a Ferrari hose ever.

I hawked mine round a few hydraulic hose people to see if they could make me one - they all turned me away.
(so I got a proper replacement in the end)

Their concern wasnt the "Y" it was the bending radius at each end to the block.

It turns out my hose is still in good working condition, I trim off a quarter inch off the hose end and put on a wider clamp (about one half size wider than original one). It seems to stop the leak now.

Wow good for you. Unless you really want the concourse points, you can make up that bend with some slack. New T fittings might look cool too. ;)

if you put "silicone hoses elbow" in ebay theres loads of "L" shaped pieces where you could just trim off the ends of the hose and refit with a connector (or build new hoses completely as suggested).

BTW That engine pic was how the previous owner left it. A little different now thankfully! :)
