I know there's been a few threads on 348 guages, especially the oil temperature, but need some further advice. Today, i took the 348 for a 90 mile blast to the office, most of the time cruising at high speeds with a minimum gear changes. The Oil temperature just about sat on the 140 degree mark (far left). Before i start checking the connections (need to know where before i attempt any madness) - is that normal? Factor to consider - its winter - 6 degrees C+

    thanks - Julian

That is too low...but you could be having a problem with the sender. There is a known problem with the sender getting a poor ground. Run a grounding wire (make it yourself) from the oil tank to the clutch bell housing as shown here:
    http://www.ferrariforum.net/tech/view.php?id=21

If this doesn't allow for higher readings, then you might replace the sender itself (they are cheap).

I imagine your oil temps are fine, but the reading is bad, in other words.

    Julian,

If that ground wire isn't there, get one fitted, its likely to be the problem. I did this mod to my 'non indicating oil temp' 348 last summer and the guage has kicked into life ever since. There was a Tech bulletin covering this but cars in storage etc may not have had it done.
