    No kidding, the thing is as wide as a Hummer..........

    It just doesn't look like it would be fun to drive. Now if you get a 348 spider, you'd have a more nimble car with an open car experience.

    Of course I must admit that I'm considering both the 550 and 360 because of the similar price point........so these kind of comparisons never stop (V-12 GT cruiser vs. nimble V-8 sportscar), the cars just change model designations.

    For what he was looking for (modern daily driver), he chose correctly. Not everyone wants an underpowered, inefficiently cooled, expensive to fix car with a 70s interior.....that looks like a VW bug.....:)

    different price ranges for a 348tb and a TR? Your profile's showing a 348tb as your personal ferrari, you change your mind?

    I faced the same decision point a few years back, and found the TR was just too big and heavy to have any fun driving in the city. 355 had power steering that I didn't like. 512BB's were even heavier and older to drive every day in the rain of the NW. So 348 spider was my answer.

    There's some well informed Alberta Fchat members around - well worth it to buy them a beer and hear their personal experiences first hand.

    Of course, in Alberta with the open road, a big heavy 12 would work just fine! More room, easier to drive on the open road, why, can even bring a g/f or wife along in the TR for open road cruising. TR is a GT, 348 is a sports car - what do you want?

    Buying the right car and getting regular and quality service is also critical to your experience!

    I would go 348 just because of the lack of power steering :)


    Then I would baby it for a couple months to ensure nothing is severely wrong.



    Then I'd upgrade it with newer and better parts. :p

    V-12. Nothing screems Ferrari like a V-12. Question is can you afford a tune up.

    Everyone has their opinions, likes and dislikes, this one suits my needs. Thanks for the good and not so good opinions. I might not like your model of Ferrari, but that is why Ferrari built so many different models, so there is one model to suit each individual person.

    Thanks, here is the link to the one I bought, due to winter conditions, I will pick up in a few weeks and trailer to my home and take some detailed snaps of it.

    Don't you mean flat-12. Unless you are talking about the vintage models, modern TR's do not have V-12s. Sorry to get technical!

    Well since you are a fellow canuck and my neighbor to the west I'll forgive your decision.....;)

    just jokes beautiful car and great colour, I have been doing some research on ZR autos how are they overall to deal with? Do they have a large maintenance dept?
    I know they advertise quite a few aftermarket parts for Ferrari do they have them in stock? I will be in Calgary late May to visit family and too stretch the spiders legs also to check ZR autos out, great buy and happy driving.

    hahaha.... I have just made a VDO clip doing a topspeed run in the 86 Testarossa... it should prove that the Testarossa is a better car.... performance, look, reliable, a little heavey steering at low speed ( but then, I bench press 200 lbs.. ) and... V12

    Hi,

    Looks like a nice TR you got!!

    I was also looking a few years back at buying a 348 or TR, I bought a 348 Spider in the end (not many TR`s without a roof here) but I love both cars.

    Which ever one you bought you would enjoy driving it, so enjoy the TR when you finally pick it up.

    Nah, you need too try harder!! ;) I have had my 348 Spider at 300 KPH (I will let you work it out into MPH) on the autostrada in Italy and it wanted to go some more before I backed off. As I was on my own I have no video footage though.

    You are number one on Highway Patrols list now, better paint the TR Black again (LOL)!!

    I guess it should, but it doesn't :) In a 348, you can do the same thing, with the TOP DOWN! Talk about a rush!!!

    They have an some parts, due to revolving stock they don't carry everything. Right now in their back shop they are modifying a Porsche & a Masserati with turbos and body kits. 9 cars in the from showrom, two being modified, a handful of customer cars, a dozen pre 92 in the rear storage area. Plus his Enzo and a couple others of his own in storage at another location. They have Novatec fly in for them for the specialty turbo and race tuning. To deal with him I would give him 10 out of 10. Fair, honest and no pressure, if you can't decide which one like me and change your mind, he is fine with it. He comes off a a friend and fellow car freak. He is very much into driving with a group on weekends to the mountains etc. This summer the group is going to the F1 in Quebec and hanging in with the Ferrari team with pit passes. He is organizing it and the deadline is Jan 31 for those that want to go to the F1 as a group of 30 Ferrari's. Also what you see on You tube, he has available a 2 DVD 2007 Collection with over 90 minutes of their Ferrari runs, racing at the Track in Calgary, New Orleans, BC and NW USA. Also all their antics which got the news. I am sure you can contact them and secure a copy.

    That would be "indicated" rather than actual, the speedometer's are Italian calibrated :D

    try it again with a GPS, there's been more than a few threads doing the math with the gearing available. TR top-end >> 348 top-end, if that's how you spend your time driving.
