Yes, they can be driven! I bought mine last December but, due to working out of country, lousy weather when in country, etc., etc., since then until last week I hadn’t even used up the first tank of fuel.

I’ve just moved the car down to the South of France now for a few weeks. After only ever having driven 400km in it, I got in at 9h in the morning, the trunk was crammed full with bits and pieces, the passenger seat carried some fruit for munching on the way. I drove through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, across mountain passes, along Autobahns, during day and night, through towns and villages, did about 35 hill starts during multiple contraflows on a mountain pass roadworks, through thin mountain air, through hot and humid valleys. I covered about 1200km in 13,5 hours and stopped just two times for fuel (one stop being used for a cup of coffee).

Next day I got up as normal and drove the car into work. I am a BIG guy and not really genetically engineered for a sports car but I had less stiffness or aches than in lots of other “practical” saloons.

The car performed excellently all the time without a single problem and I’ve never covered a distance like that and finished it just wanting to get back into the car again at the first opportunity! :D

I have been using mine as a daily driver for the last several weeks, plus taking it out on the weekends for 100+ mile "Sunday drives". My office is quite close to my home so I have extended my usual 6-block commute in order to get all the fluids up to temp but the car seems to be enjoying the use and of course I'm enjoying using it.

Would rather be using it in the South of France, however....

    Cheers
    Kevin

I just bought my first F car yesterday and it happens to be a 348TB :)

WOW, how could anyone not "want" to drive these everyday! I am planning on driving mine on a very regular basis even if it does cost me for more maintenance. I don't see how anyone can buy one of these cars to park or drive 100 miles a month. I travel a lot and my only concern for it being my only daily driver is I don't want to park it at the airport to be enjoyed by all the idots who don't take car of their own cars.

I've put 10,000 miles on my car in 18 months.

I drive it all the time... not a single "Check Engine" light. I've never even seen what a "Slow-Down" light looks like since I've owned the car.

    No leaks, no problems.

    :) (knock on wood)
