348 = Mondial t, except where different. Look up the parts diagrams at T. Rutlands to confirm.

Early model 348's running the AC Delco alternators now have an inexpensive replacement.

Brotherhood member 3forty8 found a replacement made by a company name World Powers Systems for $80. The model number is 20-182-11-1.

One thing I have learned the hard way is that the electrical connection at the crank sensor connector is CRITICAL. That is why the gentleman in Boulder sells all he can make of his gold lugs connector retrofit kit. I personally think that the gold connectors, while far better than the stock connectors, are not ideal, and that a better answer is a fully weatherproof connector housing, surrounding standard terminal lugs, and containing a generous amount of Stabililant or Deoxit Shield.

The best answer would be to revise the wiring to move the connector off the "ground". I haven't yet traced the harnesses' routes, as they leave the area of the crank wheel and proceed towards the efi computers, to identify a likely spot to relocate the connectors, but I will! The stock location is not just vulnerable to contamination of the electrical connectors from water, dirt, and oil, but is also vulnerable to physical damage. Ask me how I know...

I took all of it a part and found that it was a spring in the switch which was broken. I replaced it and off we went!

Take a close look before you replace. Take everything apart and look around.

OK, if it all melted maybe not but try.

I have since learned that the connectors that Dave sells have a lot more engineering in them than I realized when I wrote this. He has data that shows that his specially engineered gold contacts are better than standard contacts even with a high tech contact enhancer. Also he has tested the weather proof housings and has found that the individual wire seals are too soft, and that is why he uses the rubber boot housing.

There are separate part numbers for the rear brake rotors. Are they the same? Are their other sources of brake rotors that are not $700 each!?

I am searching for a short block from a '97/98/99 - 355 (6 speed) - had connecting rod bolt shear off and the engine suffered damage. It seems that there are not many engines available?
