    Hi all

After fixing the severed wiring on the drivers door loom, almost everything is working again!

One gremlin still exists that I can’t get to the bottom of.

The passenger window works fine from the passenger switch, but from the drivers side switch, the passenger window only works one way. Switch tested fine.

I’ve noticed the +ve wire gets hot, fast. I’ve had a good look and wiring looks good on the drivers side and nothing obvious on the passenger side.

Any tips appreciated where to look next!

    Thanks
    Matt

    Up or down?

The white wire? Does it get hot when activating the switch only in the failed direction?

I wonder if there is a short to ground somewhere (but still enough resistance not to blow fuse 23)

passenger side switch operation is good up and down - fast movement

    From drivers side switch:
    • Down is fine but no up
    • 2 earths to back of switch - swapped and no improvement
    • When switch is activated either up or down, I get 12v at yellow/black and yellow/red
    • When press up, within seconds the solid white (12v in) gets red hot
I’m thinking could it be something on the passenger side?

Can you disconnect the passenger door connector and see if the white wire still gets hot?

I assume the yellow/red (GR) wire gets hot too. The yellow/red wire is probably shorting to ground. If the wire doesn't get hot, with the passenger door connector still disconnected, see if the yellow/red wire has continuity to ground with an ohmmeter (switch not pushed). If the wire is shorted to ground, disconnect the driver's door plug and repeat the resistance test.
