Install the new spacer. Just feed the new studs through the holes in the spacer Image Unavailable, Please Login
Before the light goes back you need to remove these little plastic tabs. This is where the grill used to attach with screws. In the new world the end cap studs go through the grill and car body and are attached with nuts from the inside Image Unavailable, Please Login
Light with spacer reinstalled. I've got all the nuts and washers on here but don't need to be tightened down yet until the grill goes on Image Unavailable, Please Login
On my other light, the PO had installed the electric arieal attached to the light cover Image Unavailable, Please Login
No test fit the grill. The old grill had 6 screws. 2 in middle and the on each end. In this case I just put the two in the middle to hold it on as the end caps hold the ends. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So in my excitement of getting this together I didn't snap detailed pics of the end caps. As mentioned the end caps studs go through the grill and the car body and attach with nuts/washers on the inside of the car. One you have the end caps on you need to fiddle with the lights, end caps and grill to get it all to line up and look nice. The grill is largely stationary so it's really moving the lights around so they are straight and moving the end caps so they curve with the contours of the car and grill. Then tighten all the relevant bits Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Chris. (C2D) Chris is the creator of this kit. The quality of the kit is exceptional. I realize the SS look isn't for everyone but if you like it I can highly recommend this upgrade.
Hi, So I've been working on my 308 (for really too long). I was hoping that the 348 would drive without issue for a while longer, until I can get my 308 back together. Unfortunately however I think I have a problem which I need to address. I have a hard start issue. Car starts perfectly when cold, but when hot it takes forever to start and sometimes I can hear popping. Occasionally (only when warm) the car stalls and I've had the good old check engine lights on the 1-4 bank and very occasionally on the 5-8 bank. This started at the end of last summer. I pulled the codes and they were (from memory) 1211 and 1212. I have to pull them again this summer. I got new O2 sensors last year, and the problem seemed to get better. However having taken the car out last week, the issue is back. From research on my348 and this board, it seems the two places to consider are fuel area (pressure valve / malfunctioning injector) or Flywheel packing. I need to do more research on the latter. I read somewhere (can't remember where) to do a test with the hard start of depressing the clutch, putting into 1st and then trying to start. I did do this, and the hard start seemed slightly easier. I forget exactly where I read this, but where ever it was there was no explanation of what this test would tell you. If my car hot starts mildly better when clutch in / 1st gear, what diagnostic information does this tell you ? I'm considering doing a "mini service". I really can't do a major right now, as my other car is all over the garage, but what I thought I would do was : - Change the oil and coolant. (overdue anyway) - Change the thermostat. ( I did closely monitor the temp this past week, and it seems to behave correctly, but I read this could be the hard start problem somewhere) - Change the two fuel pressure regulators. - Change the injectors (anyone have an opnion on this : 1991-92 Ferrari 348 TB 3.4L V8 Genuine Bosch Direct Replacement Fuel Injectors | eBay Seems a bit too good to be true ? 1991-92 Ferrari 348 TB 3.4L V8 Genuine Bosch Direct Replacement Fuel Injectors | eBay Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More | eBay 1991-92 Ferrari 348 TB 3.4L V8 Genuine Bosch Direct Replacement Fuel Injectors | eBay Motors, Parts & Accessories, Car & Truck Parts | eBay! - Change the coolant temp sensors - Change the oil filter - Change the fuel filters - Change the phase sensor, crank sensor - Change the plugs, and possibly the HT leads - Install (at least on the above components, ideally on everything) the Gold connector kit I bought last year and haven't gotten around to yet. It would be very helpful if I could get the following questions answered a) The hard start test above, with the clutch / 1st gear - what does this tell you ? b) is the above list a resonable start - are there any other things I should do "whilst i'm there" c) I beleive all of the above can be achieved with the engine in the car. Can you confirm ? d) my last question, which seems a bit basic, is I have to buy a trolley jack to lift the 348. The one I have doesn't even go under the 308, I have to use the 308 emergency jack to get it started, and then proceed with the trolley jack. So i'm in the market for two new jacks, as i'd like at some point to use these jacks to remove the engine from the car. I found this jack on amazon - do you think this is ok ? It seems to have a height of 24" and I recall reading that you need at least 22" to lift the car for the engine drop. Is 2 ton enough ? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007G83T16/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I29Y8JXK0GCZF0&colid=3AJWC2XJMXT4Q Not sure when I will get around to actually doing this, but will certainly post my adventures. I spent some time today pricing up parts..... Jason
Image Unavailable, Please Login So I’ve been hoarding parts over the past couple of months, and got my 308 engine to start, so going to have a crack at my mini service as described above. First time doing any engine work on the 348 so be kind ! So I bought a new jack as there is no chance my other one will go under the car. This jack claims to lift 24” so it that is true then I’ll get another in anticipation of the engine out service down the road....
Image Unavailable, Please Login From research I thought there were two jacking points, one here and one further back behind the door, but under the car this is the only area which looks like a jacking point.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Couldn’t see any obvious “frame” for the stand, as there are a lot of panels, so I put the stand on the front A arm. Not in love with that idea, but will do for now. Threw on some rags to protect the metal.
