Hi there- I just purchased a 1990 348 TS and I have a couple of questions. The car tracks straight with no shimmy, but pointed in a straight line on a level road, the steering wheel is actually turned about 5 degrees to the right. I didn't notice it when I bought the car, but then again I was overcome with emotion (ha). Secondly, has anyone tried the metal horseshoe spoiler protectors that are advertised on e-bay? I'm delighted with the car and having a blast. Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions.
It's a great car. Here are a few helpful tips: http://webpages.charter.net/aircover/348/1994Ferrari348Spider.html
Welcome to the 348 Brotherhood! If you want expert help and advise on your new baby, you've come to the right place. I am a fairly new owner of less than 4 months and have found my best source for parts and advise from www.ricambiamerica.com. Daniel Pass is the principle there and is always willing to help. I can't tell you how helpful he has been with my 348.
Those horseshoes are WAY to narrow to be very effective. Whether you buy skidplates from me (or anyone else), at least get something that'll actually protect your car. In stock at the moment, I've got one pair of 348 Hill Engineering skidplates in black polyethylene. They are about 14 inches long and 6 inches wide at their widest part. There are some installation pictures here: http://ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=261276 (click the images for full size pix). Best Regards, Daniel p.s. That damn Santa Claus screwed me again. Where's my friggen F40??? Fat old man.
Welcome mate!! Good choice in the ferrari 348 ! hehe! ive seen them horseshoe protectors,i havent tried them out but,may be a good thing?? Your steering wheel problem, may be from when they did a wheel alignment, they did not straighten the wheel before they did the alignment?? Or maybe remove the steering wheel and move it around a spline or two to correct it. An easy job also, but take it to a pro for the wheel alignment!
