I'm looking at getting a car in the price range I can get a 94ish 348 targa top but I don't know too much about the 348 besides the fact that I love the looks and sound. So if you guys could give me some info that would help alot. What is the top speed for a 348 targa top? What are some of the cars out on the road now that it could beat and could get beat by in a straight line? How well does it handle, and what could you compare the handling to in current cars (Z06, S2000, etc)? How fast does it brake from 60-0? Where do you put the Targa top, is there a place in the car for it? Thanks for any info. :)

Mine is actually for sale as I'm looking for a 512TR.

For various 348 versions go to:

Top speed 17? mph and 0-60 5.? sec (don't remember the exact numbers off hand). You can store the top behind the seats.

And you can't compare a Ferrari with a chevy or honda :)

Top speed isn't bad. 0-60 isn't good. Can you get the targa in a body color instead of black? And how much does the 348 targa top weigh?

Why can't you compare the handling of the 348 to a Z06 or S2000? Is the 348 that much better?

His point is, there are many cars today that will "run circles" around your 348 in terms of performance. But it's still a Ferrari - the most cherished automobile known to man. Make better sense now?

    This was a fun thread:

Have you driven one yet? It's a different experience than the cars you want to compare it to. IMO it doesn't really compare. It's a very fun car, handles extremely well, at least mine did and the sound is just glorious. I recommend you drive one and see. You'll like it!

There's lots of great threads on the 348 and their italian idionsyncrasies in the archives that you can find using the search function.
