Heres another question, on the 89-92 348 TS and TB why are some of the ones I have looked at have the antenna mounted on the right rear quarter panel while others have the roof mounted version and still others don't seem to have any at all? are the rear quarter mounted ones dealer installed? and the roof units factory? or was the antenna in the windshield on factory cars? thanks for any information

To my knowledge no 348's cane with a radio from the factory. Early 348's ('89-92) did not have an antenna. They were all dealer installed. I believe the rear power antenna was a factory item, but installed by the dealer. Mine is a '94 and has the window antenna. I think that was in '93 and newer.

Mine is -91 and has the original Alpine stereo with an antenna in the far right corner of the front window. Works like crap though.
There is an antenna on the roof also. Just a short one for the phone. Doesn´t work that one either, specially these days when cell phones have great antennas within themselves.

I saw what was supposedly the first 348 imported to the US and it had a power antenna on the rear quarter panel. Mine is also a very early 89 and it has the small roof antenna. I read here that the roof antenna was a factory installation.

I remember going with my boss to pick up his spanking new 91 348ts back in the day. It was a Canadian car and had no radio from the factory. The roof mounted antenna was actually in the trunk. The dealer would install the radio of choice but usually with an internal glass mount antenna instead of drilling for the factory roof mounted one. My 2 cents worth.

The newer ('93-'95) window antenna goes althe way across and down the middle. It's embedded in the glass. There is also a power boost under the dash. Still does not get very good reception in the garage.

Who needs the radio in a Ferrari anyway!

She is in the garage now for the winter.

The original radio has a slot for tape. I have some old tapes in the car.............just in case.

The radio part is completely useless due to the antenna........but as you say.........who cares.
