Anyone know where to get the hood struts for the rear deck on a 348TS?

I read on an old thread somewhere that you could take the rear engine lid pistons and turn them upside down and it would work and hold the back up? Any truth to that? Mine are starting to "sag" a bit.

My next question is if the rear deck pistons should be replaced, are they identical to another manufacturer's piston (ie: a civic truck piston, a ford piston, etc..)

When the car is cooled off in the garage, the rear lid struts/pistons will slllloowwwllllyy drop the lid (it wont stay up!)

After I drive the car, and its operating temperature after a while, the lid stays up no problem. I know the elements expand with heat and contract with cold, but thats frickin weird.

Also, I need to get a glove box strut for my 348 and (i did use the search feature) i noticed that someone that bought one aftermarket said it did not fit/work. Any truth to that?

    Thanks again for your help!

Don't waste your money on the glove box strut. Replaced mine and it lasted less than 3 months. Just my 2 cents.

I leave my glovebox strut busted so nothing else goes wrong....if I fix it something else will surely break.

    Cheers
