So for all you guys who say it looks hideous...Do you think the rear of a 355 looks hideous as well? I don't understand the logic.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say it loks hideous, there was just something that didn't look right in the ad garedcars placed in forza, I will say it looks damn good on the black 348 pictured here, the pics are making me reconsider the change for my black 348

WOW was floored when I read all the nice comments on here. I figured everyone would be screaming "RICER" I like it a lot, but mostly on the black!! The red kinda shows it too much. Leave it Carbon Fiber and but it back on the car and get us more pics. I think it looked much better.

I definitely think it looks best on a black car. Also, being that the piece is carbon fiber AND comes with the taillights, $1900 seems pretty reasonable. Especially since it looks like a quick and easy mod to do.

I just have always felt that the rear of the 348 is the most dated looking part of the car. The 355 style lights give it a much more modern feel and that unmistakable Ferrari look.

How are you liking the 348 now that you have had it 4-5 months? I would love to see it sometime. Let me know if you ever want to go grab a bite to eat at Martin's whenever you come Uptown, my treat:)

Hey, does anyone else think that the chrome cavallino on the red 348 is not angled properly? It looks like it is rearing back too much!

    Am I seeing things?

    Why mess with perfection?
But just my opinion. You can do whatever you want with YOUR car :) The kit looks ok on the black 348 from the rear, but it will not match the side and the engine lid. The red 348 needs to get the bottom panels body colored for starters. I always say if you want a 355, get a 355. Not to mention it'll confuse the kids.
Another thing, the regular 348 rear will provide some additional heat ventilation. The CF kit is not a 355 challenge grill.

    Have a good day everyone!

What is the consensus on "updating" a 348 with maybe a 355 metal shift knob, or for that matter f50 rear brakes? Or f40 seats and the like?

I like the idea much better than say throwing an odd body kit on an F-car.

I can't say exactly what I would do because I am not in the position to change an f-car. But like kensterr said, "You can do whatever you want with YOUR car."

I don't know, but as far as I am concerned, bring on the soon coming 355 brakes for my 328! :)

The red 348 has a factory 355 challenge grill fitted with some custom made infills at the side, i will try and post some good pics as on these ones you cannot see the detail. The cars came out the factory with black skirts so why do you think its ok to change that, when its wrong to change the lights.

The same thing applies with the brakes Farrari designed them so they must be wonderfull, there not, thats why so many people change them. If you dont like something CHANGE it.Whats the problem.

One of the first thing that Luca decreed when he came into office was, all Ferraris will have round tail lights. He thinks that's one of the "signature" of a Ferrari.

93+ 348s have body colored skirts out of the factory, so it is consistent with the later cars.

Like I said, you can do whatever you want with YOUR car. I just don't like them and would never waste $2k on a kit. I would not put it on even if it is free. But that's just me.

Luca is not Enzo is he?

Round tail lights are also the 'signature' of a Corvette.

I personally like what they did! But who cares what I think...it's their car and they can do what they want. I would leave the panel in CF...it looks good from the pics.

Here's what one can do using factory parts...

    Ciao

Very nice! But I think you could fix the Challenge grill instead. That would be awesome.

    VERY COOL!

However, I still like the prancing horse emblem in Chrome better. :)

John, I agree 1900 is very reasonable, I'm just wrestling with changing from factory look. I am still loving the car. I did sell the 308 to a gentleman in PA. He seemed very happy with it when it arrived. I may get free sometime next weekend send me a pm with your number and I'll give you a call

it looks nive, but have you thougt about the air circulation in the engine bay ? The stock rear grill lets the hot air from the exhaust flow out, I think this didn´t, right ?
    Regards from germany, Georg

I'm neither for or against. It would require the Challenge venting.
Is it permanent or Modular? For 2K, to be able to switch them
requiring very little work, that's what I'd call a resale plus.
I'm as much a purist as anyone else, but the rear view of the
348 has never really appealed to me. (except the Serie Speciale)
Would I do it? I don't think so. But for the $$ I think some will.
I think it looks good on both examples.

The Wing? On the track yes, on the street NO!
