Folks. Anyone know if there is a fuse for the red ignition lead that becomes live when the key is turned to the first position (348)? Radio quit today and I found there is no power from the red lead. (Installing a new radio and that wont power up either so its probably not the unit itself) The GREY lead is from the BATT (+). BLACK lead is GRND (-). Thee two are always hot with or without the key but as far as I see the red lead should only be live with the key turned to the accessory position. I ran a meter across all the leads but I dont get any readings from the red lead. I checked the fuses under the PAX floor board and in the forward left side under the lid. They all check good. I hope someone has an idea before Im forced to take the steering column apart to hunt down the lead. Thanks in advance. Pete. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Traced the red lead under the dash. It basically leads into oblivion followed shortly by a junction into an after marked radar detector, a K-40 2000 (from the mid 90s Im thinking) Since I wont attempt to hunt down the wiring for this, does anyone have any suggestions of what lead can be to hooked into thats live with the ignition on so the radio will power up only after the key is on accessory?
My radio loses power about once every couple of months. Only remedy is to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and reset the electronics.
