Someone posted the name of a company that stocks and sells new replacement windshields. I lost the website address and was hoping someone might know who the company is. Thanks Indy

Ferrari Parts Exchange is up to 1.85K for a new windshield. I probably pay it but when you consider a 360's is 2.25K I just think it's excessive. I'm going to shop around a little. I've also ask them twice to check for a wireless windshield, they said they would check and call me right back. Not a word, call back or anything. I'm disappointed, alternitaves would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Indy

I'd be curious to know what the racing windshield guys would charge for custom 348 glass/polycarb: http://www.racingshields.com/index_files/racingwindshields.htm

Half the weight and 250 times as strong, too.

Interesting lead. I just ordered one from Ferrari of Riverside for 1.5K. Looks like the best deal around to me for now. Indy

i'd be curious to know if your glass can be installed in such a way as to be able to re-use the windshield trim, rather than paying $800+ for new trim.

Did you order the frame too? If not, make darn sure the person doing your installation knows wtf they're doing with Ferraris. The frame costs as much as the glass, and frequently needs to be replaced because of ham-fisted hacks who think "a windshield is a windshield".

The story I have heard, and tend to believe is don't get in a hurry, be very careful, and use a heat gun to remove the frame and seal. Getting the molding and gasket out un dammaged is tops on my list.

I'm going to attempt it myself, so wish me luck. I'll keep you all apprised of the details.

I have also heard it is critical to get the exact spacing, on all sides for the gasket and molding back in as it should be. I intend to fabricate some spacers from wooden or plastic blocks, to help with the alignment prior to glueing it in.

I actually have replaced a couple of windshields, and I really don't trust anyyone else to do it.

It is sad that I couldn't get a glass without that embeded antenna. I actually thought this really sucks.

Acording to the ferrari dealer, ther is no such thing as a 348 winshield, there all 355 winshields. and since all 355's have embeded antenns, this means all 348's, "if they should ever need a glass replacement" will also have an embedded antenna.

    Best Regards Indy

Right on bro. Whatever you can do yourself on these cars, is money in your pocket. Plus you can be confident that you know exactly what was done to it. Call me a tight ass or untrusting, but I prefer to do the majority of my own repairs.

I am in need of a replacement WS as well. Mine has become delaminated on the drivers side corner and has turned white.

Let us know how it goes and please post some pics of your adventure.
