I would like to replace the bullet style disconnect on a rear battery 348. Is there something that would be considered the "correct" replacement for this part and if so where can I purchase it?
    Thanks!

I've never understood why anyone would want that silly bullet connector, it's just a problem waiting to happen. I discarded the entire cable and installed a new one with a nice solid ground connection. If I want to unhook the battery, I pull one of the terminals. Simple. But not "concours".

just saw that i put this in "general" but i meant to be in "tech". If someone could move it that would be great.
    Thanks

Matthew- There are several battery disconnects on the market. These were purchased at www.harborfreight.com for ~$10 and seem to work really well. You simply untwist the nob a couple of turns to kill the power.

Theoretically, you only need one disconnect on the negative terminal. However, I decided to replace the battery, wire, and terminal ends all at the same time so I just opted to purchase two.

Since you would already be replacing the factory negative disconnect with a new wire, you might want to consider going down to your local stereo shop and purchasing your terminal ends from them. They have several different configurations (2 wire, 3 wire, etc.) which are generally polished brass and can help clean up the engine compartment clutter (alarm and aux wires).

I forgot to mention. Make sure you keep all the original parts. That way you can convert the car back to stock if needed for resale.

Don't forget the other "bullet" connector (lurking beneath the air filter) in the positive cable between the battery and the starter.
