It is for sure a car to be considered. I am more concerned about the lack of service history than saving a few bucks before winter. On the other car, the major service (clutch & belt) was recently performed and the interior seems in a better condition (still to be confirmed). Hence why I would prefer to see the other car before buying that one.

All this to say, I am convinced the 348 is the car for me :).

If it's stiff shifting throughout, consider getting the cables lubed. After a fun, long trip to PA, I will do mine. My wrist is sore from wrenching on the DD and driving the F car. I will do them on the car and see if that is enough. Mine sat for 20 years, 2900 miles and has dried out cable grease. 1000 miles hasn't helped this year. But full major engine service has :D

Sounds like you had fun. If you can I'd look at others but as Plugz said - why wait till the snow comes? If you find the car for you I'd buy it, these cars aren't so common that you can let good ones slip away. I looked at quite a few but when the right one came along I jumped right in.

Mine was on the market for precisely 20 minutes before I rang the owner and asked him if I could come and look at it first thing in the morning, I got his word that he wouldn't let it go before I got there. I knew she was the car for me about half way through the inspection, the test drive just confirmed it.

The 348 is the right one, but the one I test drive is probably not due to above mentioned concerns.

Also, seriously considering having an exhaust swap as the stock exhaust is way too quiet for a Ferrari. Any suggestions?

NB: since the car won't be a daily driver, I would not mind a "very" loud one!

Tubi exhaust on a 348 sounds fantastic. Even better with high-flow cats.

(On the 355, I prefer the stock exhaust, so I'm not a Tubi devotee on every Ferrari...)
