PAP just got his 348 converted, though it just doesn't look quite right Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 348 looks best stock IMHO. That silver one looks really bad with the lights sticking up. Worst I've seen yet. And those rear wheels sticking out = nasty. Changing a 348 to make it look like a F355 is like those Porsche guys taking a 1973 912 4 cyl. and putting a 930 turbo body kit on it. It's called "posing". It's called "I don't have the money for a F355, so I'll kit bash this one into one". That's why it's called a "KIT" Get it >>>>> "KIT" KIT isn't good. So you're making your 348's into "KITs" Not what I would do.
I think towards the end of the Knight Rider series David had them install round tail lights on "KIT" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Lenny, I don't think people putting the round lights on the 348 are trying to make their car look like a 355 as such. If you notice most of the reasons, it's because they prefer the round tail lights as they believe it's more tradition Ferrari and / or perhaps better looking. We are all different, but we all shared the same passion for 348's and Ferrari's. BTW, I think the Silver car of Alberts does look good, just my ho. Hey, what about any body "kit" on any car?
This the only good conversion I've seen, as it keeps a hint of the horizontal slats. Good work, unique design. To me, that's the whole point of customization, to create something special, distinctive, unique. The typical conversion to 355 lights is too much "wannabe like the mainstream ferrari's" I've seen other 348 where they simply removed the slats, leaving the rectangular lights exposed - truly aweful. My thoughts, not necessarily yours. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep. That is just plain silly having them protude the rear gaurds. Would probably scrub out over every bump. Illegal here in Oz to have them like that.
The tail lights point too far upwards, this is horrific. PAP got his boy in the driver's seat, must have been dificult to shoe horn in those leather chaps unless you used Crisco . . . OUCH! Busted...
The rear tire/wheels combo is way out of line. Looks more like a muscle car look. If anything, they should have the wheels cleanly flush with the fenders. IMO, the rear kit on the back of the pic above looks like a "kit car". The nicer 348 was the black one with the round lights under the strakes. My .02
