Hi all. New to this post so I apologize if these questions are redundant... does anyone have a list of service intervals for the 348 as far as time goes? Obviously the manual has mileage but no time.

Also, has anyone else experienced any problems with the interior coating on the center console, vents, etc. Mine has started to become sticky, like the coating is deteriorating. If so is there any fix except replacement. I have a 92 348TS. THANKS!

The manual certainly has BOTH mileage AND time intervals (rubber items, fluids etc.).

My USA version only has mileage in thousands listed and no time periods. If anyone has any different info it would be appreciated.

The 348 Workshop Manual has time intervals in addition to mileage intervals ONLY with respect to the following items:

It says to change the engine oil and filter every 10,000 km or at least once a year.

It says to change the gearbox/differential oil every two years or 20,000 km (whichever comes first, for this and for all these suggestions).

It says to change the alternator and air conditioning compressor belts every two years or 40,000 km.

It says to change the timing belt every 2 years or 40,000 km. (That means they are saying that the engine has to come out every two years, because the manual states "take the engine out of the car to perform this operation.)

It says to check level of fluid for brakes and clutch and bleed if necessary every year or 10,000 km.

Finally, it says to "check and protect the chassis" every two years.

Now I am only communicating what Ferrari's recommendations were back in the days of the 348. I haven't given any personal opinions as to what is proper. Sorry I can't scan the pages.

The two year interval on the changing of the timing belt may be regarded as absurd to some.

I would consult your local Ferrari dealer on all these items, and I would also recommend buying a 348 Workshop Manual CD from someone on Ebay.

do a search on the archives for 348 interior, lots of converstion about those rubber coated plastic parts and what to do. I've replaced some, stripped and painted others. Some have used the spray version of plastic dip with good results as well. It's a pain but worth the effort.

    Cheers,
