Are there any Main Dealers out there who do a fixed price major including belt change? (Obviously not including additional work discovered!).

Ingolstadt chuckled when I mentioned €3000 and said "If you're lucky! Reckon on more like €5000"

Even for F standards, €5000 to change the rubber band on the engine, kick the tyres, count the wheels and fill 'er up with oil seems pretty pricey to me!

Are there any independents out there who are more-or-less recognized?

(Car is in southern Germany, so Austria or even North Italy are feasible locations for a good service deal)

5000 euro is expensive. At an independent garage you should be able to have it done for 3000 euro!

I know an independent mechanic that you could call for a price if you want?

I have a number of an "independent" who says he'll do it for about €1700 but I'm not sure what that looks like when I resell the car. I know there are a few "independents" like Verdi who are sort of recognised as being ok.

Interestingly, I just picked up a French newspaper in the plane last week on the way to Germany and there was an article that Departement 13 (Provence) has now no longer got a Ferrari Dealer. Massilia has lost (or given up) its concession. I suppose this might mean a reasonable rate from ex-Ferrari qualified staff?
