The only thing that lets down the car is the ugly bolts that hold in the side strakes to the door of the 348.

Is there a plug available to cover it up or is it standard on all 348's?

    Sy,
What about painting the bolt head body colour and disguising it.

Or replace it with a stainless steel one?

Mine looks the same as the pix. It's like grey hair on Lauren Bacall. Still gorgeous...

In UK and Germany at least you can get self-adhesive paint repair patches in most colours (not an exact match, of course). They are designed to be a quick fix for stone chips. A big patch should cover the bolt heads up nicely.

I was thinking of painting them body colour, but what if I need to remove the strakes from the doors.

Remove one at a time, paint one tonight, replace tomorrow night, paint # 2 tomorrow night, etc....

By painting the bolts seperate from the car you will not paint them shut like a window.

Testor's model paint will have a color close enough to match in a spray can.

    You'll need:

1 sheet of 220 sandpaper for rust removal

Rubbing alcohol and paper towel to clean post sanding

A cardboard box with a hole punched in it via a phillipshead screwdriver

    The spray bomb

The allen wrench and possibly a pair of pliers to twist the allen wrench with as I suspect those bolts are TIGHT and probably difficult to get out. You could also use a socket drive allen key if you have one.

If you invest 15 minutes a night for 8 nights you will have the problem solved.

Otherwise buy that spray on mud they sell for SUVs.
