My 348 spider works fine until 5000rpm any gear. After that it looks like the engine is making an enormous effort to continue reving. It seems there are no more horse power after the 50000rpm and the rev needle only moves very slowly upward with little if any performance gain. Can anyone advise where i can start looking for the problem? Mafs maybe?

Check for plugged exhaust? Do you still have cats?

Check for plugged intake? Filthy air filter? Mice nesting in the filter housing?

    Check for low alternator output?

Check for full travel of throttle linkage when you press the pedal (carpets under the pedal?).

Check for water in the engine compartment, or in the spark plug holes?

Bad crankshaft sensors, or the connections to them?

Also check your spark plugs and spark plug wires.
