I just got my first Ferrari, a '94 348 spider (Red/Tan) and am still getting used to it. I noticed the seats tend to rock slightly upon acceleration and stopping. Is this normal. If not, what is the solution.
BTW, this chat group is great. Thanks for your responses.

No, your seats shouldn't rock. First, for safety, check the four bolts that hold the two seat track rails to your floor. You'll need a metric allen wrench, a flashlight, and some dexterity (that's a joke).

Make certain that you actually have all 4 bolts on driver and passenger seats, and verify that they are tight.

    If yes, then move on.

Next, check your seat back positioner. Tilt your upper seat beat all of the way forward, then all of the way back, then set it to your preferred angle and verify that it locks in place.

    Also, you'll find a few 348 tips here: http://webpages.charter.net/aircover/348/1994Ferrari348Spider.html

Thanks for the response. I will check into right away. I could have been more clear, the seat bottom stays put, but the seat back is the part of the seat that rocks slightly.
BTW, this car rocks! Over 80mph is where the fun seems to begin.

Congrats on your new ride, and good luck with the seats.

Thanks for the great link. I'm very impressed that you would have the information so readily available. I will show this to the dealer that sold me the car, who said he would take care of the seats after new years. I am glad there is a fix available.

Thanks for the kind words. The information was "readily available" because I remembered doing this repair and I remembered making a post about it. The rest is just using the archives to search for the old thread in the old FChat.

When I got my 348 I was alarmed at how loose the seatbacks were, I was very pleased to find that it was fairly easily repairable. Nothing was broken, nothing was worn out, only needed to be tightened. It has been fine for about 5 years since then.

By the way, when I say that there are 6 of those screws per seat, that means there are 3 on each side of each seat. Some of the holes are blanks.

I'm on newborn duty until my son starts sleeping through the night. It's either me or the wife to take the night shift...and she'd get cranky with no sleep, whereas I get to play on Fchat.

    Life is good.

    ...like looking into a mirror.

Me too. 4 month old boy; he *almost* has it figured out.

Not to hijack or anything, but you guys with little kids should read "Solving your child's sleep problems" by Dr. Ferber. You don't have a problem now, and following the advice of the book will be the best advise I can give you for continued marital happiness with regards to having kids. I got it after our second was born, and it makes night time fun again.
