I've had my car about a week now and I am noticing something with the top protector/cover. Apparently the underside is throwing tiny goldish/tan particles all over the interior and on the convertible top. It's dry and technically can be removed by blowing on it or wiping it off, but there is a lot of it and its annoying and time consuming to remove. I assume this is some sort of deterioration of the top cover, but when I rub it, I don't seem to get any particles that come off on my had.

Anyone else have this, know what is os or how to stop it?

I had the same thing with my 355. I threw it away and replaced it with an aftermarket one.

You have 2 option's throw it away or remove the inner covering by cutting it away around the edge with a razor blade. that's what I did.

I did the cut away of the liner today in between trying to solve my coolant leak problem. It actually looks ok. I was using the vacuum cleaner on it as I cut the liner away. I've gotta say though, all those particles are pretty freaky. As you cut the lining away it looks like someone took a bunch of paprika (sp?) and threw it in there. What the heck is all that stuff and why would Ferrari make such an awful cover?

    Hi M Cooper

I see you purchased one already sorry you would have liked this one alot. I haven't had much time to chat these days. Business calls and kids.

Your particles are coming from the inside of the convertable cover. I was told the best thing to do is have some type of material that will seal the underportion of the boot.

Good luck, And enjoy your car. I was out today in NJ and it was great.

Perhaps careful application of spray adhesive on the inside would also work?

This is an old post that got bumped.

I was able to take care of it per some of the suggestions from people above. I used a razor and scissors to carefully take the lining out and vacuumed all the paprika crap as I went. Although you never really see that side of it, it actually looks pretty good without the liner.
