No the records are not just bad things on the car, but if you get the report you will see. It shows a report for every time it was registered, passed smog, some reports when it was serviced if the dealer sent it to carfax, also sales/new owner's etc.
Actually I woild think more is better since it gives more detail. Unless the items are derogs or bad things like towing damage salvage or repairs.
Also note that not everything gets reported to Carfax so it can only give you so much peace of mind. I have a 360 in my garage that has the nose totally burnt off but it has a clean title and clean car fax. If damage wasn't reported to insurance it won't be recorded on car fax.
