348 stalls due to electrical problem. Solution.

This is my first thread. I have been learnig of all of you for a long time, and this is my way to say thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping people to maintain our Ferraris.
I am from Spain, so my english is not really good, but i will try...

I will describe the symptoms and solution of the problem I had.

Last week I took my 348 ts for a drive, everything was normal, the engine started as usual. I waited for the fluids to warm up and drove for about 30 km untill the engine began to fail. I experienced instant power loose and exhaust popping sound, so I parked the car in a moll. Then the engine stopped and would not start at all.

The battery was almost discharged, the radiator fans worked very slowly, so I thought at first the battery had died. But there was a very strange thing, the low battery indicator light did not lit, never. This indicator sould be on when start key is on position 2, just before starting, but it was always off. I checked the indicator bulb, but it was OK, so next step was the alternator, and there was the problem.

the plug that is attached to the alternator was in place, but LOOSE. When connected correctly the indicator light came on as usual, and the engine started again.
