It looks really easy to get out, and then you see the coolant and AC lines...

Mine did the same thing as your video when the bushing was bad. The inner tie rod was spotless.

Not an easy job. Couple of things when I did mine. loosen the roll bar and AC pipe completely so they can be moved around.Rack clamps will get in the way. Also the lower bolt on the elliptical cover can be removed as it tended to catch. Gives a bit more room to manoeuvre. Here are some pics. . Not much space. I refinished the roll bar while I was in there. Another *****. Good luck.

Remove bolt on far RH side of pic.

alright I finally got this rack out .....it was a pain! I used this post as my general guide https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/348-steering-rack-r-r.442361/

A couple things I did differently I disconnected the water and ac lines and moved them above the rack this gave me substantially more room to get the rack spline shaft clear of the firewall hole. I had to have a second person pull on the rack as I pushed up on it from underneath it came out the drivers side but pretty much fought us the whole way I also disconnected the sway bar completely and removed the bushings entirely

This is a great diy for removing the steering rack on your 348. I did mine today and yes it sucked ...but pausing every 5 minutes to assess the situation and to lick the wounds on my hands helped. I have a rebuilt one ready to go in but.... I cannot find the 4 steering rack bushings anywhere on this planet. On the factory parts diagram it is not listed as a part number so I assume it comes already installed on a “new” steering rack. I have scoured through and searched on eBay, Ferrari parts specialists, amazon, Chinese villages, etc to no avail. Can anyone help me out here and point me in the right direction?

I’m preparing to tackle a rack replacement on my 348. Any updates or additional information from the previous thread?

Find the Ferrarium post about it. everything above is true.

just did mine a second time with my new 3-d printed bushing. we'll see how it holds up before I go to cast urethane.

I didn't move the heat and AC lines, but I do drop the rack off its mounts and get the mounts out of the way.

How are your 3D bushings holding up? I have a feeling based upon the condition of the outer tie rid ends, that the inners are in good shape, and it’s just the bushing? Any possibility your could share more detailed photos of your printed one, or feedback on how it worked out?

I'm a bit skeptical on printed ones, cost to have them turned out of Delrin is not much different. I have a lot of plastic printed stuff both SLS and MJF usually Nylon 12 often glass filled, its fine but it is very brittle compared to same components CNC out of Delrin or nylon block. Maybe there is no stress on the as its a sliding fit and 3-d printed would be fine. But having them cnc'd is not much more and its such a lousy job I'd only want to do it 1 time. Maybe I'll make a batch next month.
