    Not the usual repeat post. Removed vents to clean with either Easy Off Oven cleaner or Goof Off 2, we will see which is more effective. My question regards the white markings indicating open and closed. Are these painted on the plastic substrate or are these also removed with the sticky coating? I will need to make a template if they are removed. Thanks for the help, John.

    Yep, they come off with sticky stuff. Previous owner cleaned mine and white marks are gone.

    Ditto, you can clean the rest of the vent except for the marking area with the Goof Off 2 if you don't mind that area staying tacky.
