Anyone here have a 348 with straight pipes or resonators? I have an opportunity of purchasing a set of Stebro pipes/resonators and was wondering if anyone especially in California has had any issues with them, has far has legality I know they are not legal.

$50,000 fine for removing cats in Illinois. You won't pass emissions without cats.

Removed the muffler and ran pipes from cats back sounded great except for a booming/resonating sound at 2500-3000. If you drive it alot it will get to you after after awhile. Regards, Vern

Luckily Ohio just did away with emissions testing a couple of weeks after I bought my 355 in december... I was lucky. Anyway, I do have the Stebro test pipes on my 355 and they are awesome so far. Great price and awesome sound! It is a bit loud, but not annoyingly loud - just pure ferrari loud!

Test pipes and tubi on a 348 sounds amazing but can be a bit much at times , but that's why I have other cars to break it up .

Run run the test pipes! Best sound you will hear come out of a Ferrari when matched with the Tubi!

Go with Hyper-flow cats / tubi. Get awesome sound and pass smog at the same time.

I think they have a similar law on the island of Palm Beach. The suffering of the local cats has been well documented as they have run out of mice to feed on, and the 60 year old ladies are saving their money instead of feeding all the local cats on the street. Clearly this has proven to be a law without merit and I would like to see all the cats removed immediately. Maybe we can send them to Illinois where they are can still get protection.

LOL! I found 2 cats under my 308 one time. I had to remove both of them. Don't tell the DOT. I think there are more cats lurking under my 348.

No emissions in OK and in TX they are too stupid to know what is what.

Try hyperflows if it's that big of a headache.

For proper care of those cats under your car and your garage you need to provide a nice cat box so the cat poopie doesn't ruin the smell of the leather in the 348. Crap this thread has gone in the sh#tter(is that a word?) I guess a this point it doesn't matter.

I took my straight pipes off. The gassy smell was just too much.

Now, with HyperFlow's, I can honestly 100% confess, I see ZERO difference in throttle response or sound. The HyperFlow cats are, to my ass & ear, equally good and smell much better.

My pipes (shown in an earlier thread) were on the car when I bought it, but I got tired of the inspection hassle and smell.

Troy's Hyper-Flow cats use a stainless matrix which absorbs VERY little sound and flows excellent. As stated earlier, Tubi coupled with Hyper-Flow is about as good as it gets. There are louder ones, there are lighter ones, but there are none that sound as classy yet raw at redline. Enzo would have had a big grin. Costs more than the test pipes for sure but a car with that combination will have an increased value in ther end and no hassles with emissions testing. Hard to beat that.

Have to agree that the smell is just too much. Am running Tubi test pipes and Challenge muffler. When funds permit, will probably go back to cats- how much are the hyperflows?

Wow, the brotherhood is strong! Thanks for all the input, by the sounds of it and the legality of it all, I will have to go with the Hyperflow Cats! I cant believe that it sounds has good has test pipes, but am not sure I want the hastle of running without cats anyway. Besides, I hate smelling like a gas station...
