I've had the standard springs taken off as they look and feel quite worn.

However, the new springs I got from a specialist are a diferent size and we're not too sure we want to put them on.

    The old springs were:
    FRONT - 330mm height (12mm thick)
    REAR - 330mm height (12mm thick)

    New springs are:
    FRONT - 330mm height (12mm thick)
    REAR - 263mm height (14mm thick)

We're not sure that the old springs are the original ones. Are they supposed to be the same height???

Having searched the forum, I've found out the OEM springs for the 348 were by Eibach. There's also lots of threads on 355 owners changing springs to H&R, but little on 348 spring chnages.

So what do you all recommend I should put in?

Ferrari don't have any sets in stock either................

and the fronts are quite expensive.

    That leaves H & R or Koenig

Also been told that 355 springs won't fit in a 348.

How long before springs should be replaced? The 348 springs are under constant pressure, so after 14+ years would it affect it's performance by a great deal?

Tough call mate. Makes you really wonder about this topic doesnt it. :):)

My 348 is 17yrs old now, and according to my service history, it has never had the springs replaced or struts rebuilt. :):)

So, my car is 17yrs old, with 40,000km on the clock on original springs and struts. :):)

But.........my car NEVER bottoms out and handles like a dream. No suspension noiseds ect..ect... Makes you really wonder if anything is worn out or not?? :):)

I dont know how to answer that question Sy. Could be like anything though. Some may still be good at 17yrs old, some may be worn at 10yrs old?? :):)

When I had my dampers refurbished by Bilstein a while back, they told me Ferrari dampers should be refurbished every 3 years. Seems a bit to short in my opinion, but I guess it depends on what you do with the car.

Have to say I did'nt notice much difference, although they did tell me two of them definetly needed refurbing.

When the dampers were removed, the bushes were either decayed or significantly out of position. Bilstein recommended to me that the standard OEM rubber damper bushes are too soft and a harder compund should be used.

Will post up about the new springs when they are on.
