Just a little pic of my two BMC Carbon Dynamic air filter... I'm not sure that there will increase the power (bmc says 15 hp...) but there are nice (i think...)
Wow! What is meant by a 'dynamic air filter'? Do they change? Are there cone filters in the box? Pretty cool lookin' best rt
yes there are cone filter in carbon box...why dynamic...because the air flow is better and because the air flow is guided directly in the box... yes i like the look of these two...and btw i bought the cars with filters on
Which one did you go for? How about their (BMC's) disclaimer : ------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: This product is made for track usage only and is not intended by the manufacturer for use on public streets or highway. To be fitted by trained mechanical personel only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isn't it street-legal? Too noisy? // Peter
ehh sorry but i don't know, i bought the car with these filter on...may be just have a look on their website...
In many of the European countries every modification that increases the power of the car is prohibited. To mount increased tires us, filters air K&N or BMC, muffler type Tubistyle and race-springs demands the homologation from part of the technical offices. Therefore who produces these accessories writes on the product that is concurred the single use in automobile race track in order not to have problems lawyers.
I took the liberty of drawing what the airflow surfaces SHOULD look like if the walls wer actually designed in an aerodynamic manner. Obviously they were not.
Perhaps the guiding wings that I have evidenced in blue they serve to create a whirling motion that helps the air flow to channel itself? Image Unavailable, Please Login
If there was a rational reason to want the air to have a rotational velocity as it traverses the inlet pipes, then you might be onto something, But you would still want the shape of the outlet of this filter to look like the top part of a carburetor ventrui as drawn in red.
