Hi Any one can tell me what expect out of installing Test Pipes ? Do I need to make significant modifications? noise? performance? What ther performance options available for 348? Thank you Alexander
I have them also / a pinch louder / don't have to worry about cats catching on fire....performance seem the same
I made test pipes for my 355. No louder, no increase in performance, but throwing away the 3 heat sensing units as well that link back to the computer stopped my "Slow down" light blinking, having gone on flashing for 3 years.
More performance, and sounds great with Tubi Oh yea, catching fire and flashing lights, who wants that?

Thank you Alexander Hello Alex, I fabricated my own test pipes with my brother, here is my comments from that 1) Burst ears drums anyone within 100 metres of your car, crisper throttle response, no real increase in overall HP but you rampup to the top HP figure quicker 2) No 3) More information required? I purchased a X-OST exhaust and replaced the test pipes we made. Hey PAP....when you go to Calif. maybe OZ can take you to a place that can refurbish those toenails...lol
Nah, they are stock cats. But, I have a feeling these guys are talking about test pipes.......meaning no cats? Test pipes from headers to muffler, minus cats???
Pap is thinking of his coworker, IUD. But to answer the OP, test pipes are great because they let you run the car while the cats are being tested (which can take years sometimes). A little louder, smoother feeling accelleration, and no blinking slow down lights. I mean, who wants the car to tell ya to slow down when your in the driver's seat of a Ferrari? No special modifications necessary. The cat gaskets are sometimes crumbly so you might have to replace those also, and I just taped up the end connections from the exhaust ECU's. BT
After my car gets here, and passes emissions, can't I just gut the factory cats. How is that done? On my Harley you just use a piece of rebarb with a hooked end. Bee Jay
You can just break it all out. Remove cat, then yuse a large screwdriver and hammer to crumble it all away. Then refit and none is the wiser.........till the next emissions test. But.................I didnt tell you that!
If you do test pipes you must do a Tubi. The sound is fantastic, and with ECU work from my company www.veloceperformance.com I am pushing almost 350hp
350hp? Wow. Now your talking. The car already has tubi. So I gut the cats, and get ECU work? Is that a chip. On my GMC truck I had to replace the entire ECU. Please tell me more. Bee Jay
What about the check engine light? I like to get rid of my thermocouples too but aren't they tied in to the ECU some how? Nothing can help those corn kernels for toenails of Paps...... Just when I was going to introduce Pap up with some of my chick friends You can for get it now Pap!!!!
Peanut Butter and Jelly....... Tubi and Test Pipes......... Some things just belong together........ Best sound in the world......
