It's coming from the center console, from the a/c controls area. Just like an old clock. It started making the sound when the car was just sitting in the garage. Key not in ignition. Anyone else stumble across this?

I had a Corvette that would make that noise from that area if its battery was undercharged. You'd just be sitting there, key not in ignition, and then "tick, tick, tick..." straight out of a Mission Impossible scene.

I haven't put a meter on it, but the battery seems fine. Starts up instantly, no turn over, stumble etc....Lights and all accessories come up with no problems.

Press the outside air button to make sure that the recirc flap isn't trying to close.

Mine did that and was the motor that controls the Air recirc flap. Really loud in the car. Cost be £26pounds from Ferrari.
