I have tried looking through the WSM and searching Ferrari Chat for any information related to testing, checking verifying the throttle position sensors reading, outputs etc.. It seems this has been asked a few times but not much in the way of answers that i can find. any help would be appreciated. Thank you Bryan.

Maybe i need to rephrase or ask this another way. I the WSM pages C12-13 there is a basic description of the TPS microswitches for bank 5-8. It is easy to understand. Is this same for the 1-4 bank? I am assuming that the translation of the shop manual is leaving something to be desired again. Thanks Bryan.

The info is on the pages C69-C95 (attached) which are usually missing in the available copies of the WSM. The described procedure refers to the use of a "55 pin interconnector" (a Ferrari special tool) which is inserted at the ECU connector but a simpler way to measure the voltages at the TPS is using a 3-pin interconnector there. I made one:

What you were reading on pages C12-13 is for the Throttle Position Switch on Motronic 2.5, installed on one bank only. It has a very similar housing as the Throttle Position Potentiometers (TPP) used on Motronic 2.7 (one on each bank) but completely different internals.

The potentiometers on Motronic 2.7 are not really adjustable (no slot holes) but can be rotated a tiny bit. The voltage readings on them (throttles closed) do not have to be absolutely equal, good enough if the reading on each falls between 400 and 600 mV. The ECUs will, at ignition "on", read the values on each TPP, take them as "base" (like zero) values and calculate from there up.

Before checking the TPP voltages at closed throttles, it is advisable to first check and equalise the gaps (0.02 to 0.05 mm) of the throttle plates via their stop screws at the bottom of the TB as the TPP readings depend mostly on where the throttle plates are (what angles they are at when closed).

The voltage readings are taken between Pins 1 & 3 on the Left TPP and between Pins 2 & 3 on the Right TPP.

I again appreciate your reply's, I am amazed how some of your folks can put up such a detailed picture so fast. also I'm going to make a connector out of an old tps I have and i found a couple of male connectors on some old Porsche harness I saved for parts. Thanks again for the help, Bryan.
