So since UK imports are a big no no according to buyers here in Australia so does that mean my 570GT Mac that's technically imported from the UK but is Aus delivererd become a double standard car???

I think its a great car especially in Sydney traffic. Not a fan if the digital dash though still like to have gauges

Genuinely I’d be interested to know the average service costs for these I believe their quite reasonable, designed to be easily worked on (once you take the plastic bits off the engine bay

Haven't had the service yet its due in another couple months as its only got 7000kms on it. I believe it averages about $700 for your oil change and fluids check + a general health check

I wasn't in the market for one never researched them but my wife found the GT online, had a look and a drive and got a great deal since I didn't have any great expectations from it not looking onto them I was very impressed. Its not the best car but a great all rounder. It wouldn't be an issue driving it as a daily. The real gripe I have with it. The fans a very very noisy.

 

Yep I read their very user friendly day to day if you choose to drive frequently we saw one driving round our way it looked like a UFO in the traffic fabulous in person It’s on the list of life goals I always thought they were Of British origins until I watched the movie(sorry to hear about the fans

If you needed more proof of McLaren's NZ heritage their vehicle logo is a stylised Kiwi bird.

 

Yep ok I knew it used to be one but never picked the correlation between old and new logo cool fact

p, I reckon the McLaren logo is one of the best logo designs ever.

BTW, if you get a chance, see the movie McLaren - very interesting and lots of period footage from his family's home movies; also an NZ documentary called something like "3 at the top" McLaren, Hulme and Amos - amazing period in NZ motor racing history.

Logo Battle.

I don't how true this is but I read somewhere that the engine for the the 308 was an adaption of 2 motors slapped together from the 124 spider. I'm sure I will get corrected

Very close to the truth I'd say ....... the tool for holding down the bucket to change shims is the same and the 124 engine was a gem

 

Looks like one of the Village People sitting on a slug........
