Just took my 348 spyder out of a 2 year hibernation. Completed a major engine service and alls well, except, for some unexplained reason, no stop lights and no turn signals. Have parking, and side clearance lights but no stop and turn signals.

Found a wiring diagram and it sez fuse 7 in panel passengers side kick panel. Does not seem to be the same as mine, any suggestions????

    thnx

Stop and turn are on different fuses, so it sounds like more than a fuse issue.

Does your hazard light switch operate the turn indicator lights? (This will confirm the bulbs are ok). Also, pushing the hazard switch on and off again has been known to revive the turn indicators.

Do your wipers work? This will confirm the brake lights have power (same fuse).

For fuses, it's best to look at the Owners Handbook.

It may be a power relay issue... or something not reconnected after the major.

P.S. Note that relay "e" in the footwell controls power to both the brake and turn fuses. However, it also powers a lot of other things, too (HVAC stuff, instrument power, etc). If you have a lot of problems (not just lights), you could try reseating that.. or "percussing" it gently. Note that it has live battery power on one of the relay pins, so best to reseat it with the battery disconnected.

The tech (owner's) manual for a '95 Spider shows fuse 5 (15 amp) for the wipers, stop lights, glove box lamp and door mirrors; and fuse 7 (10 amp) for the directional indicators and reverse lights.

Considering your background I'm quite sure you've already done this but just in case, it'd be wise to check the various connectors going to the real light housings before diving into full blown diagnostics mode.

The owners manual has the stop lights on fuse 5 in the footwell box, and the indicators on fuse 7:

If your wipers are working, and your reverse lights are working, then the fuses are okay (No idea why your car would be different from what the manual states, unless someone at sometime has been doing some DIY wiring)

Don't rule out the possibility that the stop lights and indicators not working being completely unrelated (brake light switch, indicator switch, indicator relays [located behind the hazard warning switch] ) - This is old Italian electrics we're talking about here! ;):D

Good luck with it - Hope it's something simple and easy to find!:)
