    Well with out seeing the pictures, I'm going to guess it's for the button/s to pull the ecu codes. I went to the link but I can't see the pictures. Anyway, the Euro cars didn't come with the buttons for self diagnosis. It was mandatory for the US car to have the buttons. But that is just a guess without seeing anything.

    thanks for your reply ernie,a bit more info for you,its a single white wire with a yellow trace coming out of the right hand ecu as you look at the car,its got quite a large long connector block that looks a bit like a fuse holder.I wouldnt have thought its any kind of diagnostic wire as those are present elseware.Hope this might give you a bit more info as i would really like to know what this wire is for thanks jay
