    Hello all,

I am brand spanking new to Ferrari Chat and have been wasting hours researching and dreaming.

I've narrowed down my impending purchase to a 328 GTS or a 348GTS. They don't seem to be that far apart on performance or even price really... so my main question is:

Which is a better daily driver? I plan on this car being driven ... 3-4 times a week during good weather ...

I read that the 348 requires a $3,000 serive (which requires removing the engine) every 5,000 miles ... yikes.

    How about the 328?

Any advice would be great. Thanks -chimchim101

Search function will be your best friend here before you decide on which model.
BTW, $3000 for an engine out service would be waaaaay underestimated. If that's a "yikes" to you then maybe 348 is not the right car for you....

At least he is being proactive about not getting a biased 348 opinion. The 348 will typically cost around $3000 per year for maintenance and repairs once it is sorted. The 328 is a little less expensive but is generally more favorably viewed by mnost Ferrari enthusiasts. What the 348 lacks in numbers of people supporting them, they make up for in enthusiasm!
    Go brothers...
    348's rule!

There is no bias in the 308/328 section. We have the coolest cars but we like all Ferraris

that have women draped all over the bonnet.

I meant that he would get a biased opinion of the 348 being preferred if he only posted it here.
Posting in both sections bridges the opinions of those that don't go through all the model discussions.

Aw, jon that model is a grandmother by now! :p

Get a 348, it is a way better car and better value for the money. Ignore the BS about maintenance; true the 328 is slightly less, but you will enjoy the performance of a 348 more and would tire of all the Magnum PI comments aobut your 328. The models overlap in current price although dog 328's are less than $40K and u might have a hard time finding a 348 at that price on the retail market.

You cannot get a 348GTS or GTB here in the US since these are 1994 Euro models. We have the ts and tb models.

Come on u really want one of theres babies: (This is a Euro moddel BTW.)

    Busy today. :):)
Will do tomorrow when I go for a drive. :):) Going for a nice run through to Cloncurry. That really is a hick town, around 120km from here, but the road there is fairly new and has nice big sweeping turns. The only real issue is that sometimes there are Police camera vans on the road and Highway Police always patrol that section of road. So if I am not on Fhcat tomorrow, you know I have been locked up for excessive speeding.:eek:

LOL, I read that too.... If a person has been wasting hours and hours on here doing research, then I have no idea how they came up with $3,000 for service every 10k miles, it's more like $10,000 every 15k miles, and how long between services depends on the size of your b---s. Or wallet.

    Buy a mid-80's Mondial.

The Yikes was because I plan on driving the thing, not polishing it with a diaper in the garage ... so frequent (because of the mileage) plus so much $10K per service? Yeah, not the right car for me ... besides, the 308 / 328 guys are cooler and have less attitude!

    Just kidding (kinda)

    Thanks! -chimchim101
