Can anyone help in identifying the two protruding fittings that project from each of the hubs on my 1994 348 Spider? They stick out roughly an inch from the surface of the hub that mates to the wheel (picture 1). They almost look like grease fittings. A stock 348 or 360 wheel has recesses that accept these fittings allowing the wheel to sit flush (picture 2- 360 wheel)

I recently picked up a set of Asanti wheels on FChat that came off a F355. These wheels do not have any recesses. (Picture 3). The fittings are preventing the wheel from sitting flush on the hub. Can these fittings be shortened or otherwise modified to accomidate these wheels? Or maybe a spacer with the extra holes to accomidate? Any suggestions appreciated!

Just remove them. I removed them on my 348 (ex 308 and mondi too), no issues.

Thanks Meister! Wow, so they are mostly pointless fittings that can be scraped! I wouldn't have guessed that. Seems like a wheel mounting tool does that trick much better anyway!

Yes you got it. Show us the wheels when done. I removed mine for my rear spacers on the 360. Using 348 spec OZ Superleggera IIIs and they are great. A lot like stock 360 Challenge wheels. Same diameter. Plenty of room around the calipers and may remove the front 11mm spacers or just roll my fenders.
