Im just curious as to the general consensus.
No choice for aftermarket but 355 wheels look great on the 348. So do the 512TR wheels and the 348 competizione wheels if you have to stay Ferrari. Cheers Kevin
Totally agree with Kevin. My first choice would be the 348 competizione wheels - They are Ferrari wheels & you rarely see them.
Keepin' it old school... I like the butt-end, and the clunky wheels. With some Madonna in the CD player, it's all about floatin' in the 90's. (Actually, if y'all know me, the CD player isn't used too much...) -Daniel
Here is an old thread from when I put them on the TR. In there I list the part # and the supplier I got them from : http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34256&highlight=tr+competizione Here are the vital stats : They are found under Ferrari part number 149552 for the front wheel and 149553 for the rear. The wheels are made by Speedline and are 18", compared to the stock 16". The tires are Michilin Pilot Sports and are : Rear : 295/35/18 Front : 235/40/18 I got them brand new off ebay from this company (Dennis McCann) : http://allferrariparts.com/parts_list.cfm I got front and rear spacers from Hill Engineering : http://www.customferrariparts.com/homemainferrari.htm Click on "wheel spacers" on the left margin. He has a set for this - The four spacers and 20 lug bolts. I can't say enough good things about the quality of his parts - The spacers were machined to perfection.
The original owner installed what I consider the best looking wheels on both a 348 or 355. I have Speedline "Alesio" 3pc. modular 18" wheels. The wheel spoke style is similar to stock 355 wheels. Expensive but quite beautiful! Just my opinion.
allferrariparts.com lists them as follows: P/N 149552 FRONT WHEEL 8JX18 3 PIECE, 348GTC/512TR/512M (SPEEDLINE) $ 875.00 P/N 149553 REAR WHEEL 10.5JX18 3 PIECE, 512TR/512M (SPEEDLINE) $ 950.00 P/N 160563 REAR WHEEL 10JX18, 348GT COMPETITION (SPEEDLINE) $ 1,600.00 Jerry is spot-on - note that the 10" wheel for the 348 is a few bob more than the 10.5" TR wheel although I am 99% sure that you can go the extra 1/2 inch on a 348. I am running 235/40-18 on 8" fronts and 295/35-18 on 10" rears on my 348 spider with no problems in the rear - had to roll the fronts a tad. I have Bridgestone S02's. Cheers Kevin
Kevin, I will roll the Ferrari out into the winter wonderland that is my front yard and take an acceptable photo. My digital photography skills are woefully lacking. John
Don't go to extra trouble on my account - maybe a pic from the PO or something. I just like seeing "new" 348 spiders!! (or tell me where you've posted a picture elsewhere...) Cheers Kevin
