Has anyone a photo of a 308/328 with 348 wheels on it? I just put 355's on my 348 and haven't taken delivery of my 308 GTSi QV yet and wondered how it would look. I've seen the 308 with 360's and 355's but 348's?
    Appreciate it guys!

If the 308 has 16" wheels, I'd happily take them off your hands should you go with the 348 wheels :D

If your QV has the 16" wheels don't bother with the 348 wheels.

Several folks here have done this swap - A couple from the archives.

Not my cars, I know nothing about them. But I do recall comments made by those who have done this swap, which state that some serious wheel spacers are required.

The look is not one that I personally prefer, but to each their own, I guess.

Tons of thanks for the replies all!!! I'm sure glad that Dave found photos of a 308 with the 348 wheels. In my opinion it looks awful ! Thanks for saving my the time of twisting wrenches.

the 348 is a modern looking ferrari
the toilet paper roll wheels will look very bad on a 348.

on a 348 the only option for wheels are the 355 or 360 wheels

    Absolutely...........

I think people attempt change for change sake.

Factories spend millions on getting everything to match and yes, sometimes its not to our liking but Ferrari wheel combinations should be left alone.

    +100%

I've never seen replacement wheels on a 308 that look better than the standard 16" ones.

They're like Borranis on '50s and '60s cars...best restored if needed, then left alone.

He also has his right side wheels on the left side of his car :D

At least as they would have been fitted to a 348 - The GTS guy has 'em the right way round. Either way, not a good look for me.

Looks like that GTB has got a big brake kit on it though.

People love 348 wheels. They look ok on a 348, but not much else. I love Mondials and I seem to be in the minority in thinking the stock wheels look waaaaayyy better than 348 wheels. As far as a 308, the OEM wheels are just perfect. 348? No. 360? No.

I believe Jeremy Clarkson once said, 348 wheels look like the wheels found on Jeep Wagoneers.

    Best regards,

I think the 17" GTO Style wheels from Speedline (NLA) or Compo look great on the 308, and give the car a more aggressive look. Given that they are 17", there are more tire choices as well. Been considering a set of Compos for my '84.

Someone needs to make stock looking wheels in 17" width, or in a few years we're all going to have problems finding tires like the folks have today in trying to find metric tires that fit their stock wheels.

That's the way to go. . . I can't imagine why anyone would put 348 wheels on a 308/328. Not that they look BAD, but the 16" QV wheels look so much better. Just my opinion, of course.

    Hey Phil,

The GTO had Speedline 16s while the F40 had 17s. With a bit of homework regarding "accommodating" offsets with a 17" stock looking wheel, a reputable and well known manufacturer could possibly have a big hit on their "hubs".

I'm wondering if the next wheel manufacturer that reads the second paragraph of your post will jump on the phone to the R & D department - and get this 17" **** going !!!!

    Great idea.........

    Hank
