I agree, which is why I used the H&R bolts, even though they were not as pretty as the factory bolts. The extra 3mm offers great security

OK- It's official, to use all of the available thread in the front wheel hub, the front bolts MUST be 58mm long. At 58mm, the bolt sits just about flush with the hub (maybe sticks out less than a 1/2mm). The front 348 wheel bolts so commonly used at 55mm, are simply too short for the mondial. Will they work? Sure, but they use far less of the available hub thread and, given the stress put on the front wheels, I would not feel comfortable relying on so little thread.

As for the rears, I assume 55mm is fine as it gets about 8 1/2 turns. However, I have not looked behind the hub to see if there was any more available space.

If I can figure out how to sync my phone with my laptop I will post a photo.

Great information. Where did you buy the proper wheel bolts?

The rule with any bolt size is 1 1/2 of the DIA
To be engaged for maximum strength

This all suprises me as 348 wheels appear to have been used on Mondials for ages. To think people were/are using unsafe lug bolts is just a reminder that when one deviates from the OEM parts you need to be very thoughtful.

You can paint the HR bolts a satin black and they will probably look quite good. As long as they are the right length, and for a fair price the appearance has to be a secondary consideration.

You can get those hill engineering bolts for an ok price. About 20 dollars each. They have all sorts of sizes.

    Well said.
Whatever wheel (or wheel + spacer), the bolts shall simply protrude by 22mm, which is a bit more than 1.5DIA (21mm), and it is the amount the stock bolts protrude from the stock wheels. By the way 1.5DIA equals to 14 turns (as pitch is 1.5mm).
Anything less than that is risky and not recommended, despite working.
So the best way is to check bolts protrusion and, if not 22mm, purchase new bolts that are longer accordingly (e.g. if they protrude by 17mm you will look for 5mm longer bolts).
On the other hand more than 22mm could be dangerous for interference of the bolts ends with some fixed hub component, so I would recommend to carefully check that, or cut bolts that are protruding by more than 22mm to measure.

I think all the information you need about wheels and bolts is contained in this thread, what else do you need to know, also, your attachments either can't be seen or make no sense.
