My dealer has recommended a particular exhaust over the Tubi for my 348. If I remember correctly, it was an Italia Sport.

He said it sounds less boomy than the Tubi.

Bearing in mind my 348 will be decatted, has anyone got any advice/comments on the best exhausts for a 348? (I still have time to change brands.)

    Thanks :)

If your 348 is decatted then there is no alternative to Tubi. Basically nothing sounds as impressive as this brand on your car. Also you are guaranteed a rise in BHP with this exhaust. Does Italia Sport guarantee this?

Tubi is the best for the 348, there is no competition.

Tubi with no cats is what I have on my car and its about the closest thing you can get to sounding like a F1 car....well at least one that spins to 8000 RPM's. :)

Only thing is if you are worried about loud exhausts at all then the setup is not for you as its 91 db's at idle and over 110 (highest reading on my little sound gadget) at just 6000 RPMs.

    Jas,

send my your email and I'll send you a clip of a my Tubi at a fairly brisk pace from inside the car.

Me and LeeP travelled down to the concourse yesterday at a steady 75 and the exhaust note is not intrusive at all.

Open it up and it is glorious.

quicksilver - it was straight forward and easy to install . took 1 hour . the diff is that it has a stainless cover, and polished tips. the rest is stock stainless. , rather than polishing the whole exhaust . i really didnt need a super polished exhaust , hardly anyone sees it! you can find pics at their website .

Jas - word of warning - is your 348 already decatted? If so, then check the compatibility of the decat pipes with your Tubi backbox - your decat pipes should really be Tubi to have a good chance of marrying up to the backbox.

Nope, it's standard throughout. I'm having it decatted at the same time as the exhaust fitting :)

I currently have Stebro Test Pipes and an ANSA exhaust but I am looking into getting a Tubi. I was not aware that some test pipes did not align well with the Tubi system. Does anyone know if the Stebro pipes will align correctly with the Tubi (I just assumed they would since they lined up with my ANSA exhaust fine)?

Congrats on the car BTW - saw in another thread you've located the Tubi for your spider locally. I ordered mine last year from a sponsor in Germany and waited six weeks for Tubi to build it...mind you the car didn't reach me for nearly a month so only a couple extra weeks to get the exhaust fitted.

Enjoy - they sound magic with the top down at 7K rpm through a tunnel...

    Cheers

    Kevin,

    Thanks :)

I'm especially keen to pick up the car next week so I can take her to Groombridge as my first event :) And of course, Summer doesn't last for ever in the UK. So it was a stroke of luck that Verdis had one.
