I am a new Ferrari 348 Spider owner, 1994. Lots of little issues I'm working on and actually enjoying it, but I'm a novice mechanic. So I took the guts out of the door to fix the latch/locks and while I'm waiting for parts I've got the window mech/door panel with just one bolt in so everything's kinda loose... I go to work on the convertible top and when I lift the lever to the lift the top the windows start going down- the passenger side stops about 2 inches but the drivers side motor just goes on autopilot and keeps going until the guides pop completely out the door and the window is sitting on the very bottom of the door. I think there's a switch that tells the motor when to stop and there's 2 wires that had disconnected so it didn't sense that it went down far enough and just kept going! I've taken the whole window and motor out and I'm able to get the guides back on the guide track and it still works both directions, but the cables have come out of the window motor too far and I think after it goes for a bit it stops, sensing the window is up all the way when it actually has only moved far enough for the guides to just reach the guide tracks. Do I have to take the window motor apart to "reset" the memory position or is there some way to feed the cables manually? Hope I explained this well enough- Agghh!

Well, that was easy- finally took it all apart and was able to move the guides manually and then just put the motor back on. Now hopefully I can get everything reassembled!
