I am trying to follow the 348 wiring diagram (Figure 6 - External Lights Pg L27) and am confused by some of the content.

The various electric components shown on the diagram are labelled with a number inside a circle. These components and the associated circled number are tabulated in the List of Components. The diagram also shows the wires with the associated color codes. All of this makes sense.

Now the confusing part.... On the diagram, there are a number of instances on the diagram where a wire runs from a component and just ends on the diagram at an arrowhead with a number at the tip of the arrowhead. The number is not circled. The number does not seem to correspond to the associated item on the list of components. What do these numbers refer to?

I expect this is obvious but I have been scratching my head and am buffaloed.

Any suggestions? Feel free to use "duh" in any responses.

    Thanks for the help
    Steve

It is a very lazy way to say this wire goes to sheet x.

The number at the tip of an arrow is the number of the device (as per the list) to which the wire goes. For example, I needed to find out where the current for the A/C ECU illumination (white wire) comes from. On the A/C diagram, the said white wire ends with an arrow and number 44 at it. No 44 is the Rev Counter and I found out that the white wire is connected to the Rev Counter illumination circuit.

Having looked at the diagrams again, I think Miroljub is correct. Many thanks for all of the replies.

I continue to be astonished that anyone can throw out a question and get replies from around the world within a few hours.

    Cheers
