Having my 30k major presently (nearly finished) and I complained that the car handles poorly at high speeds (over 190kmh) and the mechanic said he could install used 355 front springs on my 348 (almost for free he had those extra) and he recogns car will improve since the 355 spring has thinner coil etc he explained to me.
Initially I was considering buying H&R springs that lower 25mm the whole car and cost 540€ here in portugal, but the mechanic said before I waste the money try this idea with 355 front springs and see how that goes. Any comments/thoughts on this modification?

Your 348 springs can be adjusted for height! You may also want to check suspension geometry and alignment. A little toe in on the front may help more with high speed handling issues.

I don't know the spring rate for the 348 or 355, but I am not sure there is going to be much difference. A set of challenge springs will definetely give you a higher spring rate!

In what respect are you unhappy with the handling? Does the car wander or float? I regularly drove my 348 Spider over 118 MPH and found it to be decent. Try adding some toe, and lower the car proportionally to limit wandering or darting. The toe will give you more confidence at the steering wheel, and the lowering will prevent air from lifting your front end off the pavement (which can make the steering feel nervous).

Hard to say on this change, without knowing the specification differences between the two springs.
