    Hi,
I recently purchased my 1st Ferrari and there are a couple of bugs to work out to make it perfect.
The most embarrasing bug is that my interior door handle does not work forcing me to lower the window and push the exterior button to exit the car! Grrrr...
I am thinking that the connection between the handle and the latch has disengaged. I am pretty handy but should i atttempt to remove the door panel and reconnect whatever it is that has fallen apart?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Don

Saint Basage.... thanks for the vote of confidence. I will give it a whirl and hopefully not screw it up! Although i suppose that i could not make it worse.

The door panel comes apart in sections, starting at the bottom. There are just screws and push clips, and you need a 10mm socket to remove the inner grab handle. It's possible to break the push clips if you manhandle them, but they are not spendy to replace.

You will probably find that the cable running between the latch and the inner release handle has just popped out of the clip at the end of the cable, and can just be reattached. The cable MAY have broken, but we've seen lots of cases of it simply coming detached.

You won't need to pay anyone to fix simple things like this.

Holy cow it is Jeff to the rescue again! We are going to have to stop meeting like this. I e-mail you more than i do my girlfriend.
I will remove the door panel and figure out what has happened to the latch mechanism.
    I will report my findings.
    Thanks...... again!

I finally got a chance to remove the door panel to figure out what is going on in there
Not a bad operation... a few screws... a couple of bolts... a little careful tugging and VOILA! I first checked the end at the handle and it seemed okay. I followed the cable to the latch end and... it seemed okay too! I got hold of the steel cable and gave it a pull only to find that it has snapped somewhere in the middle. Off to the Ferrari store in the morning... hopefully it won't break me.

You can always make one if it isn't in stock or it's too spendy. It looks like the part number is 62110500 (superceded to 64314100), and it's the same on both doors. Daniel's site says it goes for $55.00

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the info. The last time that i went to the Ferrari parts counter the guy was new and confused so having the part # in hand will definitely be a benefit. I will post the cost. Thanks again.

Don't expect your local Ferrari dealer to match or beat Daniel's price!

I ordered the replacement door cable from our local dealer today... $58.45 CDN and 7 - 10 day wait. Not too bad!
Can anyone tell me why a replacement black horsey for the rear (4.5") is $236 and the same horse in chrome is $86? Seems strange to me.... i am not complaining just perplexing.

Cuz the black one is painted chrome... its "Ferrari" black, that stuff is $50 a drop!
Buy the chrome one and paint it gloss black, nobody will know the difference.

BTW, expect to remain perplexed throughout your Ferrari ownership experience ;)
