Hello All! I have been looking at the lovely Red 1992 348TS Speciale that Daytona Auto in Woodbridge has for sale. I did the Carfax and the Ministry VIN# search and the car seems to check out quite well with only a minor " inconsistant odometer reading" in 1994 - possibly a miles to kilometers thing. Have any of you seen the car in person? I plan to take a peek in a couple of weeks when I am in Woodbridge for a mini family vacation but any of your comments are always appreciated. Thanks Terry Jones Ottawa "The Dream never dies..................just the Dreamer!"
How can you tell the speedometer is not the original? I would have thought the KM would only be in Canada not the USA? Did the original speedometer have had both km/h and MPH? Thanks Terry
Oh I see - The Speciale was done for cars in the USA so they would only have had MPH speedometers. Ws there ever any cases of people rebadging the 348TS as "Speciale" versions? And does anyone know a listing of the Speciale VIN Numbers? Cheers! Terry
Well, my car was actually the earliest 348 to receive the Speciale upgrades, but it was not badged as such, probably because it is an '89 and the upgrades were performed as an FNA "experiment". Not sure if that happened again before the actual badging started.

FWIW, #94285 was originally red/tan, but was converted by Wide World to a 348 Challenge racecar early on, at which point it got the red OMP race seats.
VIN# ZFFRA36A8N0094336 It is for sale at Daytona Auto in Toronto, checks out well with the carfax and Ontario Ministry of Transport Vin# Ownership listing. Seems that it has spent most of its life in Southern Ontario. It has a minor "Inconsistant Odometer Reading" but Daytona says that there is a complete history on the car so I will check it out when I am down there in a couple of weekends. Cheers! Alex and the guy's at Daytona are top notch! They are very professional group over there. I think that one is a beauty, Good luck with it and let us know what happens. Cheer's
That is odd...here is #32 and #33, and that VIN should be in between 94285tb #32 Red - Red 94370tb #33 Red - Red
Maybe Ferrari North America can help with the VIN#. Maybe someone in its early life converted it to a Speciale? Did they carry a special ID number on it like (#15 of 100) just like a painting print? I do not know all of this stuff but I do know the car looks great in pictures and that Ferrari of Ontario will do a PPI for me so we will see................... Cheers! Terry
From what I've seen, the numbers are not sequential, but they are in sequence, so that serial number would be an anomaly if it really is an authentic SS. They also carry a special ID plate with their individual ID called out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You know I might be wrong. While Daytona auto says it is 1 of 100 made, they only call it a speciale. The interior has the photo shown below. Again will take a closer look in a couple of weeks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes - this is what you should see in the door jam, approx shin level....sorry this is a bad pic, but the flash is hiding some #'s, but look at the bottom line of this ID plate and you will see whatever the # is of 100 (mine is 79) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heard from Daytona Auto, the Speciale Series Plate is on the passengers side door jam and it is #27 of 100. (Mmmmm......Gilles Villeneuve No.27!) Cheers! Terry
