Going to try and hunt these down as best as possible on a lowered 348 with a race suspension setup, but the biggest offender by far is the Targa top.

Anyone have and tips and tricks for this and other items to tighten up on these cars? Once some cosmetics are finished on the outside next week, going to tackle some of the interior bits, and want to make it as solid as possible.

Thanks, I look forward to unvailing the car with some pictures soon :D

Interestingly, when I fitted my carbon fiber roof, I install all new rubber seals on the targa. A large number of the creaks and rattles went away. I agree, it is the primary offender.

The entire dash fitment really blows too. Frankly, the whole build quality leaves something to be desired. When I first got the car, I went around tightening everything up, and I was stunned at how loose things had become. Maybe Luigi simply didn't use enough lock washers and grip pins where he should have. Check out your rear parcel shelf trim (the leather stuff that goes back into the quarter windows). Mine were as loose as an MTV hip-hop dance crew girl.

In the end, I just kind of said "who cares". I can adjust the sound of the rattles and creaks with two independent systems:

    1. U2's "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" on the CD player
    2. My right foot + HyperFlow + X-OST

My two front trunk lid latches squeek regularly. When this happens, I squirt some WD40 on them and it stops. My targa top doesn't squeek or rattle, but it's almost always stored behind the seats.

How much are the roof seals, mine look good but maybe this will help. Sanding it down now and will paint it to match, so might be a good time. Its the only thing I'll hear over the Tubi with no cats race setup :D CD player, what CD player? lol.

Only good targas is the C5 and C6 corvettes, GM really got that one down after all the years. Easy to take off or on, and latches in pretty solid.

Build quality really is iffy on these 348 sorry to say. Any other major tips on things you tightened up? I plan on doing the doors next month, finding a fix for the slow windows (there was a device I saw and can't find now) and adding remote keyless entry, recovering the door, maybe add the carbon fiber "V" part to the middle of the door and replacing loose switches. The dash is a whole other issue, I need to remove the vents as its the last sticky part in the car.

Turn the radio up or get a louder exhaust. I figure the squeeks and rattles are just part of the fun with an "S".

exhaust is already very loud. Going to take the top off, lube the seals, reseat it and see how it goes.
