$35 million dollar fireworks display in Dubai

Geez, 35 mill can last so much more than that. That just looked like a bunch of controlled chaos.

 

Watching that, you have to remember how large an area that was. Kind of cool.

 

I saw a clip of the display last Friday on Today or Good Morning America. Crazy stuff!

 

Thats nothing. We've done a trillion dollar firework display in Iraq.

 

Yeah, but this one was planned well.

 

My former company, SOTA FX, which i sold in 2001 , created the props, dragons,etc for this. Im still good friends with the guy that bought the company from me and he said that the client was a 'cost no object' gig and they made bank on it.

 

I'm not suprised.

You could wrap a rock in tinfoil and sell it to some people here.

Great video though.

On a side note. They requested all the residents of the Palm island to Stay indoors for the evening/night on that Thursday. (Thursday is the last working day of the week --> like Friday in most places).

The residents were Outraged.
I dont know how you can muster up the courage to ask someone who just paid around $5-10 Million for a pad on the island to stay home on a weekend night.

Crazy stuff eh? I remember for simple soccer games, the fireworks were nicer than the Canada day parade in the Capital here.
